Follow-up Comment #8, bug #33483 (project pspp): Hi Since the beginning of this month I use the patch at http://sourceforge.net/projects/pspp4windows/files/2011-06-07/used-to-build/tmpdir.man-patch/ for the MSWindows build. It must be downloaded from sourceforge about a 1000 times yet so this is reasonable stable. Is your goal to have a reasonable place even if TEMP is not defined as an environment variable? In the original code this would mean it is place on the root which is always available (and writable as I found out!!) and this was the previous behavior and I haven't seen a problem report about that.
