PSPP version 0.7.8-g981b76 using an HP Desktop running Windows 7. These
problems were not experienced with an older version (0.7.5??). Problems
first noticed by Jessie Braden on the PSPP-USERS list
(address@hidden).
.sps files do not show PSPP icon and do not run after double-clicking
from Windows Finder.
Error message: .62: error: 'J:____\name.sps' is not a system or portal file.
When opening files from PSPPIRE:
1) .sav and .por files are not visible when the default option "Data and
Syntax Files" is selected. Syntax (.sps) files are visible and can be
opened without problems. Changing the "Data and Syntax Files" option to
"All Files" makes .sav and .por files visible and no problems were
experienced when opening them.
2) The following error message appears when entering directories with
data and syntax files. Permission is not actually denied because all
files can be opened by changing to "All Files" option.
error: An error occurred while opening `J:\POL242-DATA\Afghani Opinion':
Permission denied.
3) Using a "Get file=" command from a syntax window does open a .sps
file (when opening failed from Finder) BUT the dataset did not appear
in the PSPPire Data Editor.
