example:

Gender: male, female
Sex:   (nnne values yet)

You want to copy male to SEX value labels.
you enter geder's value labels cntr+c
then you enter sex value labels, and cntr+v 
value that is copied is "NONE" and not "male".

If you have 50 items from 1 to 5 likert scale, 
the only shortcut is to use pspp syntax.
You cant copy the whole value labels into other items' value labels
