Rust on Hurd GSoC (Was: Prospectives)

Hello Vedant,

So the assignment is now official, congrats and welcome!

So now begins the bonding period. This is the time to get acquainted
with the communication channels of the projects. You should subscribe to
the bug-hurd mailing list, and it would be useful that you come to the
#hurd channel on the libera IRC chat server.

Also, it's useful to have regular meetings, something like every week.
Which timezone are you in? Do you have a preference on the time to hold
a meeting in the week?

You can also start with the preparation tasks: install yourself a Hurd
box (I'd recommend using a VM with ssh forwarding), build the Debian
rustc package for Linux on Debian GNU/Linux (to see how such building
works), and building a Debian package (not rustc) on Debian GNU/Hurd, to
make sure things are working there too.

Of course you are more than welcome to ask for help here on bug-hurd or
on IRC!
