   Hi!  Please test this as if it were the final 1.9.5 and report any
   issues.  It would be nice to go over the NEWS entries to make sure they
   reflect all noteworthy changes since 1.9.4.  I am not aware of anything
   else that has to be done before a 1.9.5 release.  Please don't start to
   make major changes now, I think releasing 1.9.5 has priority over almost
   anything.

So I'm not goint to put sticks into wheels for people pushing the bike
-- I think it is a fine plan to not do any major changes (I'm
ambivalent on the topic).

Mats-Erik, do you see any issues at this point?

Could you give me a few days to go over things?

   Building on Cygwin and Mingw does not work, but I think we can
   document that as known problems, and invite people to send fixes
   for those platforms if they care.  1.9.4 doesn't work on those
   platforms either, as far as I know.

Has it ever worked?

   This release was bootstrapped with the following tools:
     Autoconf 2.69

Autoconf 2.70? Or are there fixes needed?
