[Bug-tar] Unaligned block error on AIX 5.2

I get the following error:

>gnutar -tjvf humboldt_inc_proc_sm_raw_20040915.tar.bz2
gnutar: Unaligned block (5000 bytes) in archive
gnutar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now

I have seen some discussion on how to fix this problem in src/buffer.c, 
but not enough information was given for me to be confident about how to 
fix.  Is there a new version that fixes this or can someone be more 
specific about the fix?
