[Chicken-users] assert value / REPL blocks another thread

Hello dear chicken farmers

First i'd like to say how much fun chicken is just after a few days.
I primarily do 2D image processing and found not only everything i need,
but also that its actually usable and easy to setup. Good job!

Now two things i came across:

1) Isn't (assert "the real thing") inside csi suppose to return "the real 
thing"?

2) Chicken REPL (inside aterm) blocks another thread (rendering into an 
X-window)
   while waiting for input. Is there some way to avoid this?

Btw, to make gentoo install chicken-2.5 from my portage overlay i had to rename
it to chicken-2.50 or force portage to downgrade from 2.41 to 2.5 ;-)
