This might encourage people to try to use an older build (possibly with
bugs), just because his/her build environment doesn't somehow work for
the latest version.
I understand the "older versions" primarily as a help for us maintainers
to check how an older version behaved compared to a recent one, e.g. to
answer the question in which version a bug has been introduced.
Thus, I'd rather add such a pointer to the README or better README-hacking.
