Well, in fact I don't feel I was complaining about complaining. I was
complaining about late-complaining (i.e., the optimum, if totally
unreachable, outcome of my complaining would be people complaining
earlier :)

That I can understand.
When I updated almost every single file on Emacs to clean up trailing
whitespace, I offered to do the same for emacs-unicode so joining back
the tree (sometime in the future) would be easier. One of the
emacs-unicode developers strongly "suggested" to me Not To Do So; local
changes and slow modem connections where mentioned.
