This seems pretty reasonable to me, and I do think John would be an
excellent maintainer of Emacs. Though there may be some philosophical
differences, it seems that John is willing to work within the FSF's
needs and requirements there.
John certainly knows the field can have strong guidance. I'd look
forward to a John Wiegley maintained emacs.
