We can't take everyone's misgivings at face value.  There is nothing
wrong with requesting to be copied in to a thread; if someone hestiates
to do so, we can explain that there is nothing to fear.  If he is still
hesitant thereafter, we won't be obliged to further accommodate him.

Introducing such a capability to the Emacs lists will compel us to bear
two different types of threads in mind, and that constitutes trouble.
