You can download any git commit directly from orgmode.org as a tarball
(or use the daily snapshot), via Emacs. The rest of the installation
doesn't need any outside tools either.
To get the tip of master, try for instance:
http://orgmode.org/cgit.cgi/org-mode.git/snapshot/org-mode-master.tar.gz
