I did know that. I remember the massive overhaul of the makefile
system (which, IIRC, you masterminded).
Unfortunately, I am not a makefile guru, so merely knowing that is not
enough.
I wish I had fewer dirty hacks in my life, but I'd rather get something
done with a dirty hack than not get it done at all.
