My point is that actual "t", "multicolumn", "wrap", "sideways", and
"nil" LaTeX environments are not allowed.

Sure. But we might as well implement :environment support in addition to :float.

Sure. But didn't you motivate the change with the confusing _name_
:float? IMHO, :environment is more clear.

This is not documented and is possibly a bug.
