I managed to compile gnokii on a HP-UX 11.00 box after some hours of works.
You can test the latest cvs if you are interested in. You can compile with
the following command:

./autogen.sh --disable-shared --disable-nls --without-x

Maybe xgnokii will work if you install the xpm libs, but shared lib and nls
support are definitly broken in the moment.
