Well, the first problem you should take over to the
COBcurses mailing list.
However, I will say that the gcc manual pages state that
the -G option is/was a legacy SYS V compatibility option,
is obsoleted and one should use -shared.
This would imply that your environment is somehow screwed.
The second syntax problem is fixed in current OC 1.1 tarball.
