This isn't really much - the installation DB already has 36 MB.

Sounds OK.

Do you see your data and roles like gm-dbo or any-doc inside
backup.sql ?

Sounds OK, too. However, the data does not seem to end up in
the database. You'd have to provide the full console
input/output to get better help.
Can you "see" the database "gnumed_v13" in your new, 8.4 PostgreSQL cluster ?
Can you connect to it with psql ?
