This is ridiculous, whats the point of post Mitterand politics if
citizens cant even open banking facilities?

Options that come to mind (but you guys probably know that some of
these
don’t make much sense or have already been tried before):
• Seek advice from similar not-too-big free-software-related
non-profits in France and in the EU (Debian France, Aquilenet, FDN,
Parinux, ABUL, FSFE, NixOS Foundation, noyb, whatever).
Its worth mentioning Framasoft, a not-for-profit based in France - which
is classified under law 1901:
https://contact.framasoft.org/fr/
https://www.associations.gouv.fr/liberte-associative.html
• Try yet more banks, possibly passing on the burden to other people.
It feels ridiculous drowning talent in paper:

• Open an account elsewhere in the EU.
I guess the German option mentioned previously is still a possibility?
• Dissolve Guix Foundation in France, recreate it elsewhere in the
EU,
where presumably another group would shepherd it.
I would suggest Belgium given its good a healthy environment for not for
profits and Guix has an active presence each February.
However, Im not sure there are enough with broad shoulders to oversee
the transition and maintain the bureaucracy here.
(Im at a disadvantage regarding third party bureaucracy, let alone
outside my main language. I would be fine to be a local signature if
others lead).
Otherwise, Id mention that Estonia has a modern setup regarding
eGovernment (which ultimately is an inhibitor here) and modern financial
setups.
I expect the issue then would be whether a local Estonian or a paid
agent would be the approach.
• Find a fiscal sponsor/hosting entity instead of having an
independent org.
Id advise against doing this.
• …
It sounds pretty much like starting anew, which I find hard to believe,
but I don’t know what to think.
What do people think?
Anyhow, thanks a lot to you Simon, Tanguy, Andreas, and everyone who
endured sweat and tears over the past year or so. It’s easy to feel
low
at this point, but your work makes a real difference.
Ludo’.
Hugs and kisses,
Jonathan
