Then test if the system library has the problem and use the included code if it does. If not then use the system library. That would be much better. Since you say the bug (which you haven't described) is already corrected in a later glibc version then you can simply use the code from the later version verbatim. No need to write any actual code for this yourself since it already exists. Bob
