I expected any response and I got nothing.
You shouldn't expect anything, Hurd/L4 is a oluenteer project, like
most Free Software and GNU projects. We do this in our spare time.
A tip is to ping your suggestion/patch a couple of times, and maybe
someone will find you annoying enough to look at it. :) And I might
add that this is a good start.
