Damien, while its true that Hurd developers have rejected many kernels
and Hurd has no future to come, I still believe they did the right
thing. GNU has *a* way of doing things,  a philosophy of writing
softwares in a different manner.  I have experienced it, problems
which are either nearly impossible to solve or are very-very difficult
to do, whether because of lack of money or lack of talent or lack of
hardware, were solved my GNU, producing some elegant software as the
end product. GNU is not only about software, its about how to solve
problems when you lack of resources, when everyone laughs at you that
its impossible, when all major players put their power to stop you and
you surface from the deep with your dreams realized, I think this is
what GNU has taught us.

When all of those kernels, L4, TRIX, BSD (from the very beginning) and
coyotos now, they have a point. GNU always creates software which are
technically sane, they think about society first rather than wasting
time in many other things.
