This document points to a faulty DVD as being the root of the problem.

AHCI means SATA.

Have you try to remove DVD? is your laptop connected to a docking
station?

given the message, and the laptop age, i will bet that the DVD is the
problem :)

let us know if that solves the "AHCI timeouts"!
