Latest MinGW status

Libtool is doing much better now under MinGW:

It seems that this problem is to blame for several failures:

Dialog boxes pop up several times indicating that ld.exe has crashed 
and asking if I want to send the details to Microsoft so they can help 
debug GNU tools.
