Hi Ralf,
Sorry for having wasted your time with my local hack :-( If there are
any NetBSDers listening,

explains the problem which my local hack to m4sugar/m4sh.m4 was trying
solve. I suppose I ought to try real ksh as opposed to "pdksh which
goes under the name of ksh" and see how it behaves..
