Erm. Libtool 2.0 isn't released either. Not yet.

I can't tell you the ETA for Libtool. How would I be able to do so for
Autoconf or Automake?
On the bright side, you can remove libtool.m4 and ltdl.m4 from the
toplevel source dir now.. and you *could* even move all of config.guess
et al to ltdl/config, if you put
AC_CONFIG_AUX_DIR([ltdl/config])
in your configure.ac.
