@James: thanks for testing.  This patch grows big, and changes many things  
in the source, so documentation breakage is expected.

I think that it wouldn't make sense to update documentation before changes  
in the code and interfaces are accepted, so i don't expect any new version  
of the patch that won't break make doc soon.  Still, it needs reviews, so i  
think that as long as make and make check passes, it should be kept as  
patch_review.
