Re: way to use lynx in graphical sense...

Under Linux at least, Lynx will use mailcap to determine what type of
application to use to view a file.

Thus, as you click on a graphic, it will download and then lynx will
launch xv or xli, or xloadimage, etc. to display the graphic, play
the sound, etc.
