I have nothing wrong with slimming down and speeding up. (Actually I don't
really have any speed concerns with Lynx, and I usually use it over at most
a 28.8K modem connection.) My concerns are mostly "cosmetic" that
some things don't look good in Lynx, and they're the same ones that
everyone knows about -- tables, frames.
Anyway, this _almost_ sounds like you're making a "Not Invented Here"
argument.
As much as I like Lynx, if someone else makes a text based browser that
runs on UNIX and works on an 80 * 24 connection that works as well as Lynx
in most respects and better in others, sure I'll use it.
I didn't count to see how many columns wide the graphic of their Lynx-killer
was, but it seemed to have a nice display. Seems kind if ironic I needed
to use a GUI browser to get Slashdot.org to not look cruddy... (as UNIX is
primarily viewed as text-based).. and that their view of the Super Lynx was
an image!
