Good, good. I take it that we're in agreement then, that monitoring
filesystems should make it into monit. If you want to give it a stab
it's yours Rory, I can also help out with this (I wrote a port of
Solaris volcheck for Linux so I know a tiny bit about the context).

Maybe you can write up a short design note or a funtionality list
along with monit controlfile statements for exemplification and send
it to this mailing list first for discussion and voting?

It would also be interesting to know what others (lurkers:) on this
mailing list think about this feature. Particularly viewpoints on the
functionality and what to include and not to include.

We kind of ruled out external scripts/plugins previously if I remember
correctly for a good reason, besides removing temporary files is easy
to do from within monit, we could simply fire off a new background
thread that clean up the file system. 

Another thing maybe we can include functionality for packaging
(tar.gz) and/or put stuff on backuptape? (I'm streching it here :)
