[monit] Monitor network connection

Due to local problems, my system looses network connectivity once in a
while.
When it does, I want monit to do "ifdown eth1 ; ifup eth1".

The action part should be easy.
My problem is with the test. I tried something like "check host cnn with
address www.cnn.com",  but the name isn't resolvable, monit doesn't seem to
do what I want.

I am sure there is a simple solution, I just can't find it ...
