Follow-up Comment #1:
What were you doing before the crash at startup occured? Did you upgrade from
a rather old version just before the crash?
When resetting to factory settings solved the problem I am wondering what
causes the problem since these factory setting are also used at the very first
start of octave. Can you reproduce the issue?
