Follow-up Comment #13, bug #47974 (project octave):
The axes are not individually controllable. If the axes object has the
visibility property set to 'off' then everything associated with it should
disappear. That's why the 'box = on' doesn't matter for the Qt toolkit
because the entire axes has been shut off.
