Follow-up Comment #6, bug #56957 (project octave):

I'm not expert in GCC nor C, but I do not think it is a bug with octave
itself. It seems that your system is missing something.

I have just googled by "C compiler cannot create executables" (this error
appears in the image you have attached) and most results suggest installing
these packages:

1) g++
2) libc6-dev
3) glibc
4) make

In most cases it is enough.
