Follow-up Comment #4, bug #59412 (project octave): I cannot reproduce the error. But it looks like this might be an issue because Octave or the package doesn't handle that short file name don't seem to be stored consistently in your file system. Could you please show what the following command returns for you? OCTAVE_HOME Could you also please capture the verbose output of the package installation attempt?
