Follow-up Comment #9, bug #62417 (project octave):

I don't see any need to transform the argument in this way.

If Matlab produces a classdef object for "a = format" now, then I suppose we
should do the same if someone wants to work on that.  Returning a struct might
be better than no change, but if we are doing some work here, why not just
return a compatible object?
