Thanks, bothbof you. I was going to look at that today and try to run
something similar. Rather surprised at the result being so significant. I
thought maybe it would have more to do with applying the && to the array vs
applying it to all(array), but your test is just looking at if's implicit and
with no &&.

Is the same code somewhere responsible for both implicit ands? Can that be
examined and compared to the explicit and to see if there's a performance
tweak worth attempting? I can't remember where, but I did look around at a few
other functions before dropping the alls I had.
