Follow-up Comment #21, bug #60122 (project octave):

ok thank you.  

are you on a network or local drive?  is it your primary drive or a secondary
drive, and are you working in the root folder of the drive? (these are a few
factors we've seen come into play in different parts of octave regarding file
saving)

can you try the steps @ttl mentioned in comment #1? and describe whether some
of the other things discussed in subsequent comments might be relevant to your
situation?  (trying to determine if it's the same or a related issue)
