And then any time you make a change to a server's settings, like changing 
the password, you have to edit the file again.  All because of a document 
that hasn't been updated for most of Pan's lifetime, from an age before 
Usenet was primarily a means for transmitting binaries.

When commercial NNTP servers actually advertise how many simultaneous 
connections you can make as a means of differentiating themselves from 
other services, it's time to let that part of the GNKSA die.  If the 
authors don't care enough to revise it, it's time to let all of it die, or 
just issue your own and call it "GNKSA 3.0" since they won't care about 
that either.
