A full-featured (i.e., the way GNOME 2 does it) panel with hierachial
"Start" button (like Windows 95-XP?) on the bottom is what I'm
comfortable with.
And that's exactly what I have. I installed XFCE on Fedora 14 and got
4.6, which I configured the way I like. I've now upgraded to 4.8 and I
still have one panel, at the bottom. If you can't get it to work that
way, ask at their forum, as one of the regulars is a Core Developer and
he's always very helpful.
