OK, it seems that I should investigate the system more thoroughly. 
Anyway, it would be quite interesting to see users running xtlf on 
another system than Debian-like.

BTW the raw installation of the Ubuntu Dapper was a disappointment, 
after 30 minutes i removed it and returned to Slackware :-) It seems 
that Knoppix is more suitable Debian clone, at least for me (however 
never tried to install xtlf).

Let's hope for no-problem installation of xtlf in due course, I mean not 
my machine only (it is a metter of patience here :-) but all less 
experienced Linux users and the Linux position on a ham computer at all.
