That sounds better, indeed. But we shall go to the end: Could you,
please, send me Tramp traces with tramp-verbose of 8? See the Tramp
manual how to setup the traces. Maybe Tramp works already as intended,
and we simply must suppress an error message this special case ...

Anothe sync with Tramp or Emacs CVS might be helpful, because there are
some other Tramp patches which might be related to.
