well, "xterm-mouse" mode is off by default, so if you've done
nothing to turn it on, there's something else wrong.

to check if it's on, a) do a ":set all" and search for
"xterm-mouse" in the Settings window.  if it's on, then:
    setno xterm-mouse
or
    set noxterm-mouse
will turn it off.

it's just a mode like any other vile mode (e.g.  "set list", "set nolist"),
so how to turn it on and off isn't called out explicitly.
