The copy of MediaGoblin running on the VM should probably be
upgraded to the current version as I believe that has the ability
to add things without reencoding. Then the existing files from the
current site need to be added without going through MediaGoblin's
encoding pipeline and to assemble redirects so that the old URLs
will still work and point people to the one.

There also seems to be lots of files on the current system that
aren't on the website. It'd also be nice to start going through all
of those, figuring out what they are, and getting them added too.

Whomever works on any of this will probably need shell access and
the machine is currently only accessible by SSH from Fencepost,
unless that's opened up somehow.

The ideal method for copying over all of the existing files would
probably be to use automgtic [0].
