The current behavior is intentional, and is generally the behavior of most
of the GNU lists.  See this link:
http://www.unicom.com/pw/reply-to-harmful.html.  The idea is that you
should get in the habit of hitting 'reply-to-all' if you want to reply to
the list; if the sender is also on the list, then they can manipulate the
Reply-to of their original post, or use the list subscription settings to
avoid receiving duplicates.  I'm not likely to change the list behavior
any time soon.

While we're on the topic of list behavior, it is preferable to avoid
top-posting.  It is easier to read an isolated mail in the archive if it
contains appropriate context in reading order, rather than replies on top
of the text being responded to.
