The distribution is complete.  But there is a bug in the treatment of
directory names with spaces.  That's why I asked you to check one of
the snapshot builds from
<URL:http://theotp1.physik.uni-ulm.de/~ste/comp/emacs/auctex/snapshots/>
which contain a fix for the problem you are having with AUCTeX 11.81.
