On my old machine, where previews work, the gs version is 8.63

On my new machin, where they don't work, gs version is 8.71

Actually, on my old machine I'm also experiencing the same problems as noted here http://lists.aquamacs.org/pipermail/aquamacs-bugs/2009-February/002139.html 

.. just wanted to mention it - maybe it had some correlation with my current problems..

Anyway - I've been trying to figure out how to update (looks lige gs 9.00 came out) or downgrade gs, but can't really figure out how to do it. The ghostscript version that I have comes with the latex distribution (mactex) - and usually I can update packages and so on with the tex live utility, but it doesn't seem to work for gs :(
