Thanks.  You have GNU coreutils in your $HOME/bin I bet, but it looks
like it's a fairly old version; no non-GNU cp uses `quoting' in its
error reporting, and coreutils seems to have changed the output format
around 10 years ago.  Any chance you could update?
Or it's the shell or make that mess it all up.

My last testing of some git Automake on OSF 5.1 had only two (different)
failures, and I usually try to test system tools only.
