If you subscribe to the bug-findutils mailing list, you will see all
the announcements of releases uploaded to alpha.gnu.org.  See
http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-findutils.

I develop findutils on a GNU/Linux box.  That's not to say that there
have never been any bugs on GNU/Linux, but unless "make check" passes
on that platform, the release is not made.

As for what that means about things you could do to help, the most
useful thing you could possibly do would be to contribute test cases
for the findutils test suite.  That way, the tests are done
automatically, *before* every release.  

Other than that, well, you just foud a bug so you must be testing
things by hand, too :)
