    OK, I'll do. I have enough mailing list mail with LKML but I'll
try to take a look ;)

    I don't know a word about DejaGNU, but if you can use shell
script code (I'm more or less familiar with highly portable shell
code, if that's possible...) I'll do a test for the '-follow'
problem, just for making sure a regression doesn't occur in the
future. More or less the piece of code I sent in my first message.

    Well, I hit the bug when compiling a kernel, and I noticed it
just for a question of luck. In fact, the kernel would have been
correctly compiled, the only thing that the bug broke were the
compile time dependencies, so hitting the bug would have been very
strange in normal use.
