Unicode fonts in gs

Can gs handle Unicode fonts? Specifically can I get it to render text using
the incantation:

gs -- gslp.ps -f Unicode 

If so, are the required fonts distributed with Linux (Redhat 7.0) in the
proper format, or are they readily available for this environment?
